1. About Mangalayam

Mangalayam.in is a private, invite-only matrimonial platform designed to facilitate culturally authentic and trust-based introductions within specific communities. Access is gated through invite chains - you must receive a personal invite from an existing member to join. By using Mangalayam, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

2. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years of age to use this platform.
  • You must be unmarried or legally divorced or widowed and actively seeking a life partner.
  • You must have a valid invite code from an existing member to register.
  • One phone number may be registered to only one account and one community.

3. Authenticity & Accuracy

You agree to provide accurate, truthful, and current information in your profile including your name, date of birth, family details, caste/community, and photos. Misrepresentation of personal information is grounds for immediate account removal.

4. Privacy

  • Your phone number is never visible to other members.
  • Profile details are visible only to registered, verified members of the platform.
  • Chat is available only after both parties have mutually accepted an interest - neither party can message the other before that.
  • Photos you upload are stored securely and served only within the platform.

5. Invites & Community

  • Each user may send up to 5 invites per day (resets at midnight).
  • When you invite someone, your relationship in the invite chain is visible to admins.
  • Misuse of the invite system (e.g., inviting bots or fake accounts) will result in suspension of your account and all accounts in your invite subtree.
  • Your community is automatically assigned based on the invite code used at registration and cannot be changed.

6. Prohibited Conduct

You must not:

  • Share false or misleading information about yourself.
  • Harass, abuse, threaten, or exploit any other user.
  • Solicit money or share commercial content without authorization.
  • Create multiple accounts with the same phone number.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or access the platform programmatically.
  • Share another user's contact details, photos, or personal information outside the platform.

7. Vendor Directory

The Vendors section lists wedding service providers for reference only. Mangalayam does not guarantee or endorse any vendor. Users should independently verify vendors before engaging their services. Mangalayam is not liable for any disputes between users and vendors.

8. Moderation & Account Actions

Mangalayam administrators reserve the right to verify, suspend, block, or permanently delete any account at their sole discretion, including all accounts in an invite subtree, if these Terms are violated. Blocked users lose all access to the platform but their data may be retained.

9. Intellectual Property

All platform content, design, and code is owned by Mangalayam. By uploading photos or profile content, you grant Mangalayam a non-exclusive license to display that content to other members of the platform for the purpose of facilitating introductions.

10. Limitation of Liability

Mangalayam is a platform for introductions only and is not responsible for outcomes of connections made on the platform. We are not liable for any loss, harm, or damages arising from your use of the platform or interactions with other members.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms. We will notify users of material changes via the platform.
