- Account information: name, mobile number, email address (if provided), gender, and invite code used at registration.
- Profile information: date of birth, religion, caste, sub-caste, Gotra, Nakshatra, Rashi, height, education, occupation, city, state, native place, mother tongue, bio, family details (father, mother, mama, siblings), and photos.
- Activity data: interests sent and received, chat messages, invites created, vendor contact clicks, and login timestamps.
- Device and technical data: IP address, device type, and browser information collected automatically for security and analytics.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account.
- To show your profile to other verified members of your community (opposite gender only).
- To enable interest requests, mutual matching, and chat between members.
- To send OTP verification messages and platform notifications via SMS and push.
- To enforce invite limits, community assignment, and platform rules.
- To detect and prevent fraud, fake profiles, and misuse.
- To improve the platform based on aggregate usage patterns.
4. What We Never Share
- Your mobile number is never visible to other members of the platform.
- Your personal data is never sold to third parties.
- Your profile is not indexed by search engines or accessible without login.
5. Data Sharing with Third Parties
We use the following trusted service providers to operate the platform:
- Supabase — database and authentication infrastructure.
- Cloudflare R2 — secure photo storage and delivery.
- Authkey.io — OTP delivery via SMS.
- Resend — transactional email delivery.
- Railway — backend hosting.
- Sentry — error monitoring (no personal data in error logs).
- Google — optional sign-in via Google OAuth.
Each provider processes only the data necessary for their function and is bound by their own privacy and security standards.
6. Photos
Photos you upload are stored in Cloudflare R2 and served only within the platform to authenticated members. Photos are not publicly accessible via direct URL without a valid session. You may delete your photos from your profile at any time.
7. Data Retention
Your data is retained as long as your account is active. If your account is deleted by you or by an administrator, your profile and messages are removed from the platform. Some records (such as invite history) may be retained for up to 90 days for abuse prevention.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures including HTTPS encryption in transit, bcrypt password hashing, JWT-based authentication, and rate limiting on sensitive endpoints. No system is 100% secure — please use a strong password and keep your OTPs private.
9. Your Rights
- You may update or delete your profile information at any time from your profile settings.
- You may request deletion of your account by contacting us at the email below.
- You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
10. Children's Privacy
Mangalayam is strictly for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we become aware that a minor has registered, the account will be deleted immediately.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via the platform. Continued use after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
